Lost and Found

Presented by Robin Chalfin, LICSW and Bob Fox, LICSW

This presentation will look at the circular phenomenon of getting lost and found as central to the process of being human (Dasein, “being-there”), and in particular to the practice of psychotherapy.  From an existential and psychoanalytic perspective Bob will talk about the ways in which the call shows up in the therapeutic situation and how the therapist recognizes and appeals to that which has been lost but which is always already available in some way to be refound.  Robin will further elucidate the centrality of relationship and how the therapist and client get lost and found together.  Through in-depth case analysis she will explore how finding the client requires finding oneself.
