Coming Together, Coming Apart An Inner and Outer Journey
Presented by Ming Chang, LMHC, LADC1 and Pam Mullins, LMHC, LADC1
In this presentation, we will explore the movement of coming together and coming apart on many levels. First, we will examine closely how we experience the existential paradox of coming together and coming apart within our own self relation. Drawing on the writings of Christopher Bollas and D.W. Winnicott we will look at the relation to self as an object relation and then we will explore the development of object relating and object usage as it plays out in our intrapsychic experience.
CEs available for LMHC and LICSW
A case vignette will demonstrate how we struggle with these issues in a clinical setting as therapists and with our clients. In addition, we will explore the paradox of coming together and coming apart within the context of group and organizational settings. Using the existential and psychodynamic lens, we will expand our understanding of this continuum of movement as necessary to our full participation with ourselves, our clients and the world
